Notification of Urgent maintenance on the Network in the following areas to be completed over the next 2 weeks.

We are upgrading our Data network switches in around 60% of the comms rooms across the buildings at Hardwick Lane.

Where this time?

Cabinet 2 and Cabinet 17 located in G8 Ward –

Antenatal/Colposcopy CDS – Central Delivery Suite Community Midwifery Dialysis F10/F11/F12 Wards G8 Ward (inc Telemetry) Pain Clinic SCBU Special Care Birthing unit – Neonatal Stroke Offices

Will I be affected?

If you wall socket has the code C2/xxx or C17/xxx then you will be impacted. If this code ends in a V then this is one of the Business Continuity voice phones so will NOT be affected.

Downtime?

Between 30secs and 3 mins – see details below – if your PC/Docking station is connected to the back of a Unify phone then it will be between 2 and 3 mins downtime max. For some users this will not be noticeable, however we ask the ward managers to check the details below for critical devices.

Detail of the Changes (for those who want/need to know all about it)

1 – All Wireless Access points – We will migrate each AP one at a time during the working day with minimal or no impact to devices and users. They reconnected to another AP as normal.

2 – Critical Clinic devices/Equipment – Our deployment team will need to know of any devices that cannot experience a period of 30 secs to 3 mins (if connected to a phone) of downtime. We will have an engineer sit with you when this happens and confirm that it is all working again before moving onto another machine. These will include an mini hubs that are connected in various areas – we need to know where these are.

3 – Phones that have Desktop/Docking stations sharing the same port – We will do this early in the morning before 8:30 as the downtime is between 2-3 mins before the PC is connected to the network again.

4 – Desktops or Docking stations that are directly connected to a network port – Downtime for these will be less than 1 min and will be completed during the working day with minimal notice. Its not anticipated that the downtime will be perceptible.
